The Lost Boys explores humanity's rebellion against time itself.
Inspired by the mythology of Peter Pan's tribe of found and collected youth, and filtered through a contemporary lens of punk romanticism, urban decay, and emotional nostalgia, The Lost Boys examines what it means to preserve wonder, identity, and emotional aliveness in a world that constantly pushes us toward change, responsibility, and inevitability.
The program is not simply about refusing to grow up: it is about the fear of losing the parts of ourselves that make us feel most alive. The Lost Boys exist suspended between innocence and defiance, celebration and collapse, freedom and inevitability. Time itself becomes the antagonist of the production: always ticking, always pursuing, always reshaping the emotional and physical environment around the ensemble.
Recurring systems of clocks, chimes, fragmentation, cyclical motion, shadows, and environmental transformation become the connective tissue of the production. These ideas continuously interrupt momentum, disperse unity, reshape pacing, and challenge the performers' sense of identity and connection.
Visually, the field transforms into a fragmented urban Neverland: a living scrapbook of rebellion, memory, decay, and youthful mythology. Musically, the production embraces rebellious energy, groove, swagger, cinematic breadth, and emotional vulnerability, within a constantly evolving pacing architecture.
As the production unfolds, the ensemble gradually realizes that time cannot ultimately be defeated. The rebellion against inevitability becomes less about victory and more about preserving emotional truth, connection, and memory in the face of change. In the end, time still comes for us all. But in their rebellion, the Lost Boys live forever in memory.
