Cavaliers Announce 2020 Percussion Team

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(ROSEMONT, Ill.) – The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps is proud to announce our 2020 Percussion Educational Team, under the direction of Michael McIntosh. McIntosh is in his 17th year with The Cavaliers, having served as percussion technician, caption manager, and as a member of the design team since 2010.

“We are fortunate to have an especially talented group of returning and new educators who embody the organization’s educational priorities and drive for dynamic performance and excellence,” said Michael Vaughn, Corps Director. "Michael McIntosh and his team consistently deliver a meaningful experience for our membership. They challenge and inspire our students to reach new levels of excellence in our activity, and I’m excited to see what they bring to the 2020 season.”

Percussion Arranger Alan Miller and Percussion Designer/Arranger Clif Walker will both collaborate with McIntosh and the returning creative team to craft The Cavaliers’ percussion soundscape in 2020.

Jesse Backes and Russell Wharton will continue to serve as the Co-Battery Coordinators, with Bret Kuhn, and Rick Rodriguez resuming their roles as Percussion Ensemble Specialists.

The Percussion team will include the talented minds and craftsmanship of Erick Eckstrom, Rick Drewry, Rob Pastor, Nond Sil, Tim Jackson, Miles Kenobbie, Scott Simon, Jack Holway, Nick Beaudet, Eric Shriver and Shelby Shelton.

In 2020, the percussion team will welcome new staff members Joey Martinez, Josh Brickey, and Randy Sifuentes. “We are wary of how important staff chemistry is in order to produce at the highest level,” states Michael McIntosh, Percussion Caption Manager/Music Coordinator. “That being said, we’ve managed to find three teachers in Josh Brickey, Joey Martinez and Randy Sifuentes that are used to motivating and coaching at the highest level. We are thrilled to have them join our family!”
