Cavaliers Announce 2019 Percussion Team

(ROSEMONT, Ill.) – The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps is proud to announce our 2019 Percussion Educational Team, under the direction of Michael McIntosh.

“We are fortunate to have an especially talented group of returning and new educators who embody the organization’s educational priorities and drive for dynamic performance and excellence,” said Michael Vaughn, Corps Director. "The Cavaliers consistently deliver a meaningful experience for our membership, and I trust this percussion team will elevate those expectations as we head into the season ahead.”

McIntosh is in his 16th year with The Cavaliers, having served as percussion technician, caption manager, and as a member of the design team since 2010.

“For 2019, we’ve added some incredible new teachers to our percussion faculty,” said Michael McIntosh, Percussion Caption Manager for The Cavaliers.

“These educators have a ton of experience and value the art of collaboration and teamwork. This collaborative process will form the backbone of our teaching philosophy as we work together to produce not only great percussionists, but great leaders,” McIntosh sad. “I am super stoked for 2019 and what the competitive season entails!”

Percussion Arranger Alan Miller and Percussion Design Consultant Clif Walker will both collaborate with McIntosh and returning creative team to craft The Cavaliers’ percussion soundscape for the 71st season in 2019.

Jesse Backes and Russell Wharton will serve as Co-Battery Coordinators, with Bret Kuhn, Clif Walker, and Rick Rodriguez serving as Ensemble Specialists.

The Percussion Team will include the talented minds and craftsmanship of Eric Willie, Rick Drewry, Andrew Lynge, Erick Eckstrom, Rob Pastor, Nond Sil, Frank Connelly, Kyle Miller, Miles Kenobbie, Scott Simon, Jack Holway, Nick Beaudet, Eric Shriver and Shelby Shelton.
