Cavaliers Announce 2018 Percussion Team

(ROSEMONT, ILLINOIS) – The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps is proud to announce our 2018 Percussion Educational Team.
“Joe Hobbs is returning for his fourth year as our the Percussion Caption Manager, leading an educational team that represents some of the best talents in the education business today," said Joe Roach, Director of Programs and Corps Director of The Cavaliers.
Michael McIntosh serves as the caption's supervisor, and both McIntosh and Alan Miller return as the Corps' percussion arrangers in 2018.
"We pride ourselves on an intense and meaningful educational experience for our membership here at The Cavaliers," Roach added. "This veteran team of percussion educators will have a hand in shaping our members into skilled technicians, dynamic performers, and future leaders, and I can't wait to share with the world what this staff and membership will accomplish in our 70th anniversary!"
Joe Hobbs, Percussion Caption Manager of The Cavaliers Drum & Corps, has been pleased with the progress the members have shown the staff so far. "The membership's talent and drive over the past several months has simply been impressive," said Hobbs. "Couple that with a solid team of educators, and I can tell you that this percussion staff is incredibly excited going into the summer of 2018."
The Percussion Team will include the talented minds and craftsmanship of Jesse Backes, Nick Beaudet, Frank Connelly, Rick Drewry, Jack Holway, Andrew Lynge, Kyle Miller, Rob Pastor, Eric Ridenour, Rick Rodriguez, Eric Willie, Kevin Welborn, and Russell Wharton.
"The Cavaliers' battery had a 100% retention rate of eligible members for the second time in the past three years, and the same goes for our key staff personnel," added Hobbs. "We're also happy to have welcomed great teachers to the Corps this year, including Frank Connelly (Bass Drum), Kyle Miller (Bass Drum), and Rick Drewry (Front Ensemble).
"We haven't lost any steam from last year's exciting finish," Hobbs said. "2018 will be a year to remember for The Cavaliers percussion section."
