Meet the 2023 Visual Staff
Brian Soules returns as Caption Manager, leading a team of experienced experts including Cavaliers veterans and other experienced visual marching arts professionals.
This year’s visual team combines decades of experience from well-known marching arts legends and fresh new perspectives. We welcome this team for our 75th anniversary season:

Brian Soules returns for his fourth season as Caption Manager with over 35 years involvement in the marching arts. Prior to working with The Cavaliers, Soules brought home three DCI John Brazale awards for top visual while with Carolina Crown (as well as one DCI World Championship). Other finalist groups Soules has instructed include Bluecoats, Santa Clara Vanguard, and The Crossmen. Soules says of the entire visual staff, “we are humbled to be a part of the rich tradition that is The Cavaliers and look forward to celebrating the corps’ 75th anniversary this season.”
Austin Greene joins us this year as the Assistant Visual Caption Manager, after most recently serving as the Education Director for the Blue Knights. He’s also been a visual judge for Drum Corps International, Winter Guard International, and Bands Of America, as well as the Visual Caption Head for The Cadets. In the high school marching arts world, he’s worked with notable groups including Kennesaw Mountain High School, Concord High School, and Durham School of the Arts. He additionally designs, hosts clinics, and judges throughout the US and abroad. His experience and expertise will be a huge asset going into the corps’ 75th season.
