SPOTLIGHT: The Kissamis Family
As The Cavaliers look toward 2018, our 70th Anniversary Year, we're excited to explore what GEARS IN MOTION means to us:
- The Active Pursuit of Excellence | A keen focus on driving improvements and inspiring leadership in ALL we do;
- Shining the Spotlight | Celebrating and recognizing the incredible people who live and breathe The Cavaliers’ mission;
- Connecting with Our History | Honoring founder Don Warren by building that connection to our history, our alumni, and our community.
From our volunteers to our alumni, GEARS IN MOTION means recognizing the incredible history within our organization and shining the spotlight on those who contribute so much of their lives to The Cavaliers.
That's why we're shining the spotlight on the Kissamis Family. Spanning multiple generations and years worth of contributions to the organization, the Kissamis' are what GEARS IN MOTION is all about!
From Marcia Kissamis:
Our family began our association with The Cavaliers organization over 25 years ago. Our oldest son joined in 1989 and his younger brother joined him the following year. My husband and I quickly joined as volunteers.
This enabled us to spend quality time with both of our sons and over a hundred of their closest friends. The friendships we all developed with their Cavalier brothers and parents are still an enduring part of all our lives.
All of the time and money we invested in The Cavaliers has been repaid to our family in countless ways.
The traditions our sons have come to value, the travel and friendship they experienced, the spirit of teamwork and competition...all have instilled the highest level of confidence and independence. The times that we shared have become part of our family history, and now we are extremely fortunate to watch our grandson Andrew enjoy the same benefits as he became a marching member in 2016.
What a thrill for our whole family to watch him continue the Cavalier traditions!
