Cavaliers Announce 2021 Percussion and Electronics Team
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(ROSEMONT, Ill.) – The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps is pleased to announce our 2021 Percussion Educational Team and Electronics Team, under the guidance of Michael McIntosh.
“We’ve got an exuberant percussion membership that is about as talented as we’ve had in a long time,” said McIntosh. “The chance to create and design the percussion contribution with Clif Walker is something I’m very much looking forward to. With Reuben Rodriguez overseeing the electronics, and a talented staff including the additions of Josh Brickey, Joey Martinez, Randy Sifuentes, Nick Mason and Nond Sil, 2021 should be the catalyst that sparks a bright future!”
Percussion Designer/Arranger Clif Walker will be working with McIntosh and the creative team in order to create The Cavaliers’ sound for the year.
“Our talented percussion staff has worked diligently during the off-season to prepare our students for an exciting summer. Through a series of workshops, masterclasses, and virtual rehearsals, Michael McIntosh and his team have kept the members in shape, engaged, and hyped for our return to the field,” stated Michael Vaughn, Corps Director. “They've truly gone above and beyond. The passion these tremendous educators have for their craft, and their selfless dedication to the corps and our members are inspirational.”
The 2021 Percussion Team will also include the talents of Jesse Backes and Russell Wharton, who will be serving as Co-Battery Coordinators.
Our Front Ensemble team for the year will include Rick Drewry, Randy Sifuentes, and Shelby Shelton. The Tenors will be guided by Nick Beaudet, Miles Kenobbie, and Scott Simon, while the Bass team will comprise of Joey Martinez and Nond Sil. Josh Brickey will be assisting Jesse Backes with the Snares.
Other members of the Percussion Educational Team include Bret Kuhn, the Ensemble Specialist, and TIm Jackson, the Battery Choreographer.
As for the Electronics Team, Reuben Rodriguez will be serving as the Audio Coordinator while Nick Mason, Michael Abel, Jacob Drake, Kyle Hollen, and Steven Storm will be the Audio Engineers.
"I'm super excited to be stepping into the role of Audio Coordinator,” said Rodriguez. “I've been assisting the team for the last 4 years and am a Cavalier Alumni, so this transition feels natural as we take our electronics equipment and approach into the future, but continue the tradition of excellence that has been laid down by my predecessors. Splooie!"
