Jon Millsap

Affectionately known as just “Millsap”, Jonathon Rhodes Millsap has immense experience in a variety of facets of the marching arts. He has spent twenty-five years performing, instructing, leading, consulting, designing, and adjudicating. Jon feels lucky to have the opportunity to work with music & movement students, year-round. 

In the summer and fall months, Millsap has worked with the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps. Starting with the corps in 2016 as a Prop Specialist and Tour Administrator, he quickly became an essential member of the team. He served as the Stage Manager- leading the team responsible for Bluecoats Set Pieces- and was on the Visual Education team. Previously, Jon marched euphonium at Teal Sound FL, contra at Carolina Crown SC, and taught on the Visual team at Music City TN.

In the fall and winter, Millsap designs shows, props, drill, and choreography with marching bands across the United States. During the week he works with the visual and prop teams at the Centerville Jazz Band in Centerville OH, and Beavercreek Band OH. His design and consultation clients have included Irmo SC, Swansea SC, Newberry SC, Union County SC, Riverbluff SC, Greenville SC, Brookland-Cayce SC, Forsyth Central GA, Klein Cain TX, Prosper TX, Burleson Centennial TX, Bentonville AR, Castle IN, East Central IN, and Plainfield IN.

In the winter and spring, Millsap has the privilege of working with indoor ensembles such as Rhythm X (PIW) OH, Centerville (PSO) OH, and Beavercreek (PSO) OH every day. Other indoor clients have included Bluecoats Indoor (IW) IN, Veritas (PIW) IN, East Central IN, Plainfield IN, North Greenville Indoor (PIA) SC, and Irmo SC.

Jon, and his wildly talented wife Corrinne, live in Centerville Ohio with their West Highland White Terrier, James Franco, and their Coton de Tulear, Winston Charles. They run their pageantry arts company, Make Meaning Build & Design, together. Corrinne is an amazing dancer, choreographer, and scientist. She is on the design team and is the movement caption head at Rhythm X, Centerville Indoor Percussion, Beavercreek Indoor Percussion, Beavercreek Marching Band, Centerville Jazz Band and is on the visual education team at Cavaliers D&BC. Corrinne has danced, performed, and taught for 30 years with Miami Valley Dance Company OH, as well as Breakthrough Dance Company in Madison Wisconsin, Zydeco World OH, and Pride of Cincinnati Dance Ensemble OH. She is also a Consultant for the healthcare software company, Epic Systems. In the little free time they have together, Corrinne and Jon love traveling with their pups, cooking, motorsports like F1 and Nascar, and spending quality time with their friends and family.
