Garrett Giantonio
Garrett Giantonio is a music educator and lead trumpet player based in central Connecticut. He currently serves as the band director at Jared Eliot Middle School in Clinton, where he leads the 6th-8th grade concert bands and the jazz ensemble. In addition to his middle school role, Garrett contributes to several high school marching band programs across the state.
As a prominent trumpeter in the Tri-State area, Garrett performs regularly with esteemed groups and venues, including The Goodspeed Opera House, The Hartford Jazz Orchestra, The Rob Zappulla Orchestra, the Ivoryton Playhouse, and is also a co-leader of the Affinity Big Band.
Garrett earned both his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Connecticut, where he focused on trumpet performance, music education, and curriculum. During his time at UConn, he also served as a graduate director for the athletic band program. Beyond his collegiate studies, Garrett marched with The Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps and has since taught with a number of different groups, including 7th Regiment, the Caballeros, and The Cadets.
