Cavaliers Announce 2018 Electronics Team
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(ROSEMONT, ILLINOIS) – The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps is pleased to announce our 2018 Electronics Team, under the leadership of Tom McGillen.
"Since 2010, Tom McGillen has set the standard for sound reinforcement and electronic applications in the marching arts activity, and we're honored to have him serve as the Electronics Caption Manager in 2018," said Joe Roach, Director of Programs and Corps Director of The Cavaliers.
McGillen has developed a talented and experienced team to collaborate closely with music coordinator Michael McIntosh and arrangers Alan Miller and Michael Martin.
“Simply put, you hire the best people and let them do their jobs," said McIntosh. "Tom empowers us to explore what's possible with electronics and present it anywhere on the field. With the smart and capable team he's put together, 2018 is going to be truly special!”
"When it comes to bringing productions to life through sound reinforcement and electronics, Tom is the ultimate professional," Roach added. "We are challenging the entire organization to display the active pursuit of excellence, and I'm confident this skilled Electronics Team will take that charge to the next level during our 70th Anniversary Season."
Tom McGillen and The Cavaliers recognize that the scope of electronics and sound reinforcement has grown significantly over the past decade, and so has the need for experienced personnel.
"Our team, our experience, and our partners contribute greatly to the production value of the program," said McGillen. "We've worked to assemble a great team of professionals to bring the design to life and achieve at the highest level."
Yamaha Corporation, Pageantry Innovations, and Planet Waves, along with other suppliers and vendors, play a critical role in The Cavaliers' success in the area of electronics and sound reinforcement.
The 2018 Electronics Team will include the experience of sound engineers Geoff Martin, Reuben Rodriguez, and Justin Shelton and assistant sound engineers Evan Blades, Ben Cowan, and Carter Henderson.
"I have worked with Geoffrey, Reuben, and Justin before, and I am glad to have them serve as our Sound Engineers for this season," McGillen added. "I'm also excited to have Evan, Ben, and Carter join the Electronics Team to assist our Sound Engineers."
"This staff has a wide variety of experience, education, and background in the marching arts, and I am confident they'll help The Cavaliers deliver another exciting production to audiences aross the country this summer!"
