Cavaliers Updated Safety Protocols: July 2022
As many of you know, The Cavaliers were deeply impacted by a COVID-19 outbreak earlier this season. All of our members have exited their CDC recommended protocols and have returned to the field. However, COVID could return quickly and further impact the season.
Today, multiple corps have announced that they will be doing standstills or missing performances due to COVID.
As a result, The Cavaliers will be instituting the following protocols for the remainder of the season:
All outdoor rehearsals will remain open to the public at the present time. Please do not interact with members, staff, administration, or volunteers unless masked and observing a 10-foot distance.
Please do not enter indoor rehearsals and housing sites- these are limited to members, staff, administration, volunteers, and housing site personnel.
Please do not access the warmup and parking areas at rehearsals or shows. This is our biggest concern for transmission and is the most likely access point for our and other corps outbreaks.
Any interaction with members, staff, administration, or volunteers should be outdoors, last 15 minutes or less, all individuals must wear a mask, and observe a 10-foot distance.
Our members, staff, administration, and volunteers will be required to wear a mask indoors, on busses, and outdoors when around individuals outside of our “bubble”.
If we observe non-compliance in these regulations, we will have to resort to a complete closure of rehearsals, housing sites, show warmups and parking lots until after finals. We don’t want any individuals to miss the end of the season because they have COVID. While we wish we didn’t have to adopt these protocols, it is necessary for us as we keep the health and safety of our members a priority. There are less than 20 days remaining in the season. With all of our parents, alumni and fan’s support, we will make these remaining days productive and end our season strong. Thank you for your understanding.
