Rick Subel

Rick Subel is the co-founder, co-director, and creative designer for Paramount Winterguard in Atlanta, GA. From 2016 to 2023, he served as the Artistic Coordinator for Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps, based in Fort Mill, SC. In the summer of 2024, Rick assisted in the design process for Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps and served as the Staging Director for the Japanese tour of Blast!

Rick's design and production expertise has extended to many prestigious organizations, including Santa Clara Vanguard, the Cadets, the Bluecoats, the Crossmen, Magic of Orlando, Lexis Winterguard, Blessed Sacrament Winterguard, Juxtaposition Winterguard, Emerald Marquis Winterguard, and numerous college and high school programs such as Georgia State University, Tarpon Springs High School, Kennesaw Mountain High School, Kell High School, Westfield High School, Harrison High School, and Lassiter High School.

As an active pageantry designer with over 30 years of experience, Rick is dedicated to exploring new and proven processes for creating competitive and artistic designs across all levels and classes of competition. In addition to his design work, he serves as an adjudicator, clinician, and consultant, committed to fostering growth and innovation in the marching arts community.

Residing in Atlanta, GA, Rick draws inspiration from the authenticity and dedication of student performers. He is passionate about continuing to learn, teach, and share his expertise in design and performance with the world.
