Richard Saucedo has stepped down as the brass arranger for The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. Richard has been an integral part of the design team for many years, and we wish to thank him for his dedication, as well as his amazing compositions. His contributions have helped to establish the Cavalier sound of this decade.
Richard stated, "I have resigned my position as brass arranger so that I can spend more time with my family. This will also allow me to focus more on my teaching responsibilities at Carmel High School, as well as my concert band and orchestral writing projects." He also stated "There is not a better organization for young musicians and performers anywhere on the planet!"
Richard has been with The Cavaliers since the year 2000 as brass arranger and composer.
We wish Richard nothing but continued success in all of his future endeavors.
As a successful 60th Anniversary season wraps up, we turn our attention to the upcoming 2009 Cavalier auditions! The corps will hold two audition camps this year; the first in Rosemont, IL in November, and the second in Austin, TX in December.
We strongly encourage any serious student interested in auditioning – whether for the 2009 corps or beyond – to come to one of our clinic/audition weekends in either late November or early December. You may audition, or use the experience to see what it takes to be a member of The Cavaliers. After an exciting Samurai program in 2008, we look forward to a new and exciting program ahead!
If you're interested in getting more information and being placed on our mailing list, please check out the camp schedule and complete the Membership Questionnaire online. We'll follow up with additional information in the coming weeks, prior to the audition weekends.

The Cavaliers wrapped up the 2008 season by having the first annual Awards Brunch held at the Radisson Airport Indianapolis. Over 450 were in attendance comprised of families, fans, and 138 of the 145 2008 corps members. The standing room only crowd enjoyed the program conducted by master of ceremonies, corps director Bruno Zuccala, and drum major Kevin Gates.

In true Samurai spirit, The Cavaliers fought a tough battle to earn a score of 97.325 and the bronze medal at the DCI WorldChampionship on August 9th in Bloomington, IN. The corps competed in front of tens of thousands of excited and energetic drum corps fans. Following weeks of jockeying for top positions by many talented competitors, The Cavaliers' performance attributed to a gripping drum corps season finale.
While we take a moment to appreciate our success, we would like to thank the members, staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts, as well as family, friends and fans who supported the corps throughout the year.
Congratulations to the following individuals and ensembles on their successful performances Wednesday, August 6th, during DCI Championship week!
