Executive Director, Monte Mast at the SUMMER SEND-OFF and Celebration of Life for Mr. Don Warren

Looking back, 2018 was a year of many changes for The Cavaliers.

This year we experienced the passing of our founder, Don Warren and his devoted wife Jan. Mr. Warren’s legacy will forever be remembered throughout our entire activity and I know we will strive to continue his great work by developing better people through the ensembles and educational programs our organization supports.

I would like to celebrate and highlight the tremendous year of achievements from our programs.

Chromium Winds, the Independent Open Class Winds ensemble, went on to capture its third consecutive WGI Sport of the Arts championship gold medal.

Crystal Lake Thunder, our affiliate Independent A Class percussion ensemble, was a WGI Sport of the Arts Percussion finalist.

The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps celebrated our 71st season by touring California for the first time in over two decades and having the opportunity to perform at alumnus Fernando Pullum’s south-central LA community center with Wayne Bergeron, Tom Hooten and others. We also visited longtime partner Yamaha and did a lunchtime performance for their company.

Our competitive season was a successful one, which included a third place finish in the brass caption. Most importantly, there was a strong sense of positive momentum that has continued through to the 2020 audition process.

Shortly after returning from Drum Corps International (DCI) World Championships, the home office team said goodbye to our Lyndon Avenue address and moved into the Village of Rosemont building in the center of Rosemont.

We have a great deal to be proud about this year.

Looking forward to 2020, we’re excited to continue the great momentum our team of educators, staff, and volunteers have created for The Cavaliers. Michael Vaughn will continue to inspire and lead the 2020 Cavaliers in the role of Corps Director, we are excited to have all of our caption leaders and coordinators returning, and the entire design team from 2019 is already hard at work developing the 2020 program. The staff is thrilled with the talent the corps is seeing on video and at the live audition experiences.

An incredibly exciting year is in store for the whole Cavalier family and we hope you can help us continue our mission.

Now your donation can count more than ever! Thanks to the incredible members of our Board of Directors, tax-deductible donations made today through January 1st at GIVE.CAVALIERS.ORG will be matched dollar for dollar up to $20,000!

Please consider a tax-deductible gift (one-time or monthly) that’s right for your budget before 2019 ends. Keep in mind, many companies have a matching gift program that will increase your dollar’s impact with The Cavaliers even further! We need your help to continue our mission.

Thank you for your generosity. Please know that The Cavaliers are grateful for your continued support.

YOU ARE THE CORPS. We are a family, and together we all make the GREEN MACHINE. At this moment, hundreds of young men from around the world are coming to our audition experiences, hoping to become members of one of the most exclusive fraternities in the world; THE CAVALIERS.

The young men chosen will each do their part to uphold the legacy of the thousands who came before them…but in order for them to take on this task they are going to need your help.

Giving is simple and takes just a moment of your time. Your donation goes to providing support for the operational costs of the organization such as food, instruction, transportation, and housing. This effort is vital to the success of our organization and helps provide an incredible world class experience for The Cavaliers.
