William Martin

William Martin (originally from Waterloo, Iowa) is currently living out his dreams of being a NYC-based performance artist. He is thrilled (and honored) for this full-circle moment to be returning to The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps! Prior to moving to the east coast, Martin spent two years traveling around the world (to over 60 countries) as a Lead Vocalist with Holland America Line. He marched DCI for five seasons with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps (2004-2008) where he also served as the Guard Sargeant (2008). He marched WGI for two seasons with The Pride of Cincinnati (2007), and Cypress Independent (2012).

Martin has been involved with the Color Guard activity for the past 20 years. He served as Director of Color Guards for Springboro HS (Springboro, OH), The Woodlands HS (The Woodlands, TX), Andy Dekaney HS (Spring, TX), and Flower Mound High School (Flower Mound, TX). These programs were consistent WGI Regional finalists, WGI Regional Champions, Circuit Champions, BOA Regional finalists, State Champions, and BOA Grand National Champions (TWHS- 2013), as well as participants in the Tournament of Roses Parade (FMHS- 2019).

Martin has worked as a clinician, consultant, designer, choreographer, technician, and/or Caption Head with The Troopers (2009), The Blue Knights (2010-2012), Cypress Independent WG (2010-2015), the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band (2012- 2016), The Phantom Regiment (2013-2015), The University of Houston Winter Guard (2015- 2016), The Madison Scouts (2016-2018), The Heights Winter Guard (2017), Axis Winter Guard (2018), The Bluecoats (2019- 2022), The Spirit of America Marching Band (2017), Texas Band Association Convention (Clinician/Presenter- 2016), The Pride of The Netherlands (Huizen, Netherlands: 2017- 2020), as well as a host of High School and Jr. High School programs that have competed both locally, and nationally.

Outside of teaching and performing, Martin enjoys traveling, spending time with his family and friends, and trying new cuisines!
