Sandifer Reid Griffin
S. Reid Griffin is an active marching arts instructor and choreographer in the middle Georgia area. As a performer, Reid spent seven years in Drum Corps International's elite World Class division, touring as a brass performer with the Spirit of Atlanta, The Cavaliers, and the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps. During this time, he finished in four top-six finals placements, served as a member of the CrownBRASS student leadership team, and performed in a hornline which was awarded the Jim Ott Award for Best Brass Performance.
Reid has designed for and instructed scholastic and independent marching arts ensembles across the United States. As a drum corps educator, he most recently served from 2022-2024 as a visual technician, movement specialist, and hornline choreographer for the DCI World Class Finalist Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps (Casper, WY). During the fall, Reid serves as the visual coordinator for the Mercer University marching band (Macon, GA) and East Coweta High School marching band (Sharpsburg, GA). He is also the program director for state medalist East Coweta High School Indoor Percussion.
Above all else, Reid is an outspoken advocate for Bent Leg Visual Education, having helped institute and cultivate successful bent leg visual programs in high school ensembles across the southeast. He is thrilled to join the 2025 Cavaliers educational team as they invest in the drum corps’ next era of remarkable young men.
