Robert Baker-Hargrove Jr.
Robert Baker-Hargrove Jr. became a member of The Cavaliers’ color guard for the first DCI Championship in 1992 and returned to the CAPE organization in 2021 as a member of the Board of Directors, serving on our Organizational Culture Committee.
Robert earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Textile Sciences with a minor in Business Administration. In 2000, he earned his master’s degree in Business Administration from Webster University. In April 2018, Robert ended his 24-year plus career with The Walt Disney Company. He was fortunate to have been a Proprietor, Producer, Resource Manager, Choreographer and Production Manager for numerous new shows, parades and special events for Walt Disney Entertainment and Disney Cruise Line.
Robert has served on the board for the Mental Health Association of Central Florida for 6 years. During his term as Board Chair, he guided a successful capital campaign enabling the organization to fully purchase a new building while the organization grew from an annual budget of $220,000 to 1.6 million. He also served on the Florida State Board of Directors for Mental Health as the Treasurer.
He has been very active in the local Central Florida LGBT community serving as the past Executive Producer for the Come Out with Pride Entertainment Committee. Also, Robert was an active member of the Disney Resource Group, PRIDE serving on the leadership team. As an out African-American man, diversity and inclusion and the intersection of where various groups overlap is a passion for Robert.
As the Co-CEO, Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder for 26Health, Inc., it is his priority to build an organization which helps people live and be their true authentic self in a welcoming and culturally competent environment which not only extends to the LGBT community but to all layers of diversity.
Robert resides in Orlando, FL with his spouse Dr. David Baker-Hargrove and their daughter Whitney.
