Matt Hixenbaugh
Matt Hixenbaugh is from Dayton, Ohio and has had a passion for music from a very young age. He was introduced to the marching arts at Carroll High School and has been highly involved in the activity for the past decade. In 2015, Matt became a member of the inaugural Rhythm X Winds ensemble as a trumpet player. He continued to perform in the ensemble and ended up performing in every single Rhythm X Winds show (2015-2020). In 2018, Matt marched the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps on trumpet.
Matt has worked with many scholastic groups in the Ohio area, teaching music and visual, writing hornline and battery choreography, consulting, and arranging music. He has been teaching at Centerville High School since 2019 and began running the visual program in 2023. He taught the Crossmen brass in 2019 as well. In 2020, Matt joined the visual team at Cap City Percussion, where he was the Cap City 2 Visual Coordinator (2021-2023) and a Cap City World Visual Coordinator in 2024. Currently, he is on the visual team at Rhythm X for the 2025 season.
Outside of music, Matt is extremely interested in physics, mathematics, and computer science. He is currently studying physics and mathematics at Wright State University.
