Javier Ayala

Javier Ayala’s experience with Drum Corps began during his three years as a Baritone/Euphonium member of the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps (2014-2016). He also performed many roles during his time in the FIU Indoor Ensembles, such as marching Bass Drum, Visual Ensemble, and a Trombone soloist for their World Winds program.

He currently travels around the United States performing for theme parks and entertainment gigs. He fills his time in between those gigs with tours around the country as a member of the JER Ska Punk Band. This past summer, Javi was a member of the Japan tour for the Tony and Emmy award-winning show Blast! as a Trombone Swing. It gave him the opportunity to play various Low Brass and percussion instruments during that Japan tour.

Back home in Miami, Florida, he currently works as the Winds Caption Head for the newly competitive Pembroke Pines Charter High School (2023-present), and the Award-winning Hialeah Gardens Senior High School.

Javi’s main passion is to become a full-time composer and arranger. He arranges music for various South Florida schools and writes for independent films like the Award-nominated short film Project Penelope.

This will be Javier’s first summer working as an educator in Drum Corps International. He is incredibly excited to work with the Drum Corps that influenced his desire to be a part of the activity.
