Brittany Summers

Brittany Summers is a dedicated music educator and marketing professional with over a decade of experience teaching middle school band and two decades of performance background. Most recently she was the Director of Bands at Moore Middle School in Celina, Texas, where the program grew from 140 students to over 460. Originally from Plymouth, Michigan, she developed a passion for band pageantry as a drum major and mellophone player in the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park Marching Band. Her aspirations took her to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas and the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas where she completed her coursework in music education and horn, studying respectively with Dr. Peggy DeMers and Mr. William Scharnburg, and conducted the Sam Houston State University Bearkat Marching Band. She has been involved with prestigious ensembles including playing and marching mellophone with The Bluecoats and The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, and aging out with The Cadets as a drum major.

As a director with public school bands, her students have gone on to perform at the Texas UIL State Marching Contests at the 6A, 5A, and 4A championships.  Most recently the Celina Band went on to win gold at the state level for the most recent back-to-back seasons. She has conducted clinics and masterclasses across Texas and has presented at the Texas Bandmasters Convention in San Antonio.  

Now living in Providence Village, Texas, Brittany is a passionate advocate for the arts, believing that art is everywhere, previously serving her town on the Fine Arts and Culture Board for the last three years. Today she is a Marketing Development Representative at Blackbaud, Inc, a SAAS company, and works with non-profit organizations and cultural groups to enhance social impact. Ms. Summers is a proud parent to two daughters who are the light of her life. She continues to play and teach music at various schools throughout the region.
