Similar to the King Cobras Drumline, the ensemble is an all-ability color guard that focuses on developing fun and active performance opportunities for students of all abilities, aged 14 and older. Beyond music and dance, our programs aim to focus on inclusion, adaptation, and social engagement. Students participate at a high level of energy and excitement throughout the classes, which are a fun and educational form of exercise. Our program activities foster development of many motor skills like hand-eye coordination, bilateral coordination, motor planning, grasping skills, and attention to task skills. Our students not only hone these skills, they do so while having FUN!

In its short two years, the King Cobras Drumline program has had over 814 student participants and 45+ performances to date. This year the ensemble opened for rock sensation Train at Taste of Joliet, and this winter, representives from the ensemble have been invited to present at the renowned Midwest Band Clinic in Chicago.

The King Cobras Color Guard will be managed by director Dale Hallerberg, who also directs the King Cobras Drumline. The King Cobras staff bring everything necessary to accommodate each program including equipment, instructional staff and resources, and adaptable curriculum. The group visits high schools, middle schools, transitional programs, park districts, or any place where people of different abilities may gather.

The King Cobras Color Guard is offered in cooperation with the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA). Registration is now open, and rehearsals begin on October 10th. More details regarding staffing and upcoming performances are coming soon!
