Dare to Dream in 2022! Auditions Now LIVE for The Cavaliers and Chromium Winds!

(ROSEMONT, Ill.) — The Cavaliers Arts, Performance & Education (CAPE) proudly announce auditions for The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps and Chromium Winds (CW). Dare to Dream and be a part of the Cavalier Family in 2022!
After a year and a half away from the activity, we are thrilled to be getting started with the 2022 edition of Chromium Winds! Our design team has already been hard at work putting together an outstanding production for CW's return to competition, and we look forward to welcoming similarly outstanding performers to our auditions this year as we begin working towards a 4th WGI World Championship!
Chromium Winds is planning to have a relatively normal season with rehearsals weekly on Sundays. Instrumentation for the ensemble with be a brass section (trumpets, mellophones, baritones, and tubas) plus a woodwind section of saxophones (altos, tenors, and baris). CW currently isn’t planning for any live percussionists this season, but percussionists can easily find a home with The Cavaliers’ affiliated indoor percussion ensemble, Crystal Lake Thunder! Join CW for an audition prep clinic on October 24th and auditions on November 14th & 21st.

The Cavaliers Audition Experience is traveling across the nation and is more accessible than ever! Percussion Auditions will be exclusively in the virtual realm until the January Callback camp - sign up for Video Auditions and from there percussionists will go through rounds of feedback as they progress through the experience. Brass and Color Guard will do hybrid sessions, they will have the choice of attending an in-person camp, a virtual camp, or video auditions. ALL audition events until the January Callback camp will be one-day events from 9am to 6pm.

All participants MUST be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to attend in-person camps and will be asked upon arrival to show proof of vaccination. If you are not vaccinated you are eligible and encouraged to audition virtually, but please do keep in mind to be a Contracted Member and participate in the 2022 season with either The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps or Chromium Winds, you will need to be fully vaccinated.

ABOUT CHROMIUM WINDS
Chromium Winds (CW) is the Independent Winds ensemble representing The Cavaliers based out of Rosemont, Ill. Participating in the Winter Guard International (WGI) Winds circuit, CW offers young male and female performers a competitive performance outlet in the Chicagoland area that builds on the style, creativity, and excellence of The Cavaliers' award-winning programs and ensembles.

The Cavaliers were founded in 1948 from Boy Scout Troop 111 by the late Don Warren. One of the most successful drum and bugle corps in history, The Cavaliers have won 20 national championships, including seven Drum Corps International world championships, since 1992.
The Cavaliers provide a variety of life-changing educational and performance programs for young people that go beyond music and performing arts to build personal accountability, excellence, teamwork and camaraderie. Programs include GearWORKS, Chromium Winds, and Crystal Lake Thunder.
