Chromium Winds Announces 2020 Production
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(ROSEMONT, ILLINOIS) – Chromium Winds (CW), the Independent Open Winds ensemble presented by The Cavaliers, is proud to present its 2020 production, “BROADCAST.”
REPERTOIRE
“Scootin’ on Hardrock” by David Holsinger
“JC’s Theme” from Terminator 3 by Marco Beltrami
“Short Ride in a Fast Machine” by John Adams
BROADCAST takes the audience on a journey through the way society has consumed the news over time. Starting in the era of newspapers and radio, audience members then have the opportunity to connect personally with some of the most memorable tragedies of the television era, as they see our performers watch these events unfold on television. As the show progresses, the high-speed internet age takes over and we are inundated with notifications the instant that news breaks.
“Along with Creative Director Christian Cruz-Vargas, our design team has created a program that audiences will remember far after our ensemble has left the floor.” states Andrew Zweibel, Ensemble Director.
“This show will challenge the performers and audience alike, to explore their own personal reactions to the news stories that shaped their lives. We are incredibly lucky to work with talented designers like Kevin Nevsimal (visual), Matt Hahn (electronics), Jordan Fandrey (choreography), and Michael Martin (music).”
Chromium Winds is proud to have the support of The Cavaliers’ strategic partners and suppliers, including Fred J Miller, Inc., Yamaha, Field and Floor FX, and Pageantry Innovations.
