About Elly: I'm very involved in my high school's music program. I play Trombone in the Normal Community Jazz Band, Tuba in Concert Band and Euphonium in the Wind Ensemble. I have been inducted into the National Honor Society. Much of my time is spent volunteering for Relay for Life as I have my own high school team called Marching Over Cancer. I love to design things and plan to Double Major in Animation and Music Performance.

What advice would you give to someone who is interested in joining Chromium Winds?

Remember that everyone else started with an audition. Being nervous is good but still be confident in your abilities. Practicing for your audition is a must but dont psych yourself out by over doing it. Try to absorb all of the information you can while you are there. The staff is there for a reason and the information they can give in a day will help you both in and outside of rehearsal for the rest of your music career. Lastly, have fun! Get to know people. The whole experience is better when you talk to people and hear the stories and tips they have to give to you.
