Travis Speice will be returning to the role of Color Guard Caption Manager for the 2019 season, marking his tenth year with The Cavaliers.

Speice resides in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has been involved in the color guard activity for years. He has been teaching the Pride of Cincinnati for since 2012, is a member of the advisory board for the TriState Marching Arts color guard circuit, and has adjudicated marching band contests across the country.

In the past, Speice says he has been fortunate to have worked with other groups in various roles including Zydeco color guard, and other high schools in Indiana, Ohio, and New York. Speice is a proud alum of Pride of Cincinnati, Aimachi, Empire, Patriots, and Boston Crusaders.

Speice is a sociologist, and teaches at Xavier University. He earned his doctoral degree in sociology from the University of Cincinnati in 2016. He previously was a grant writer for Pones, a non-profit organization in Cincinnati. Pones provides artistic opportunities for community growth by creating engaging new ways for audiences to experience dance.

“The Cavaliers has been my home for many years now, and I’m very much looking forward to spending another year with this talented group of designers and educators!”
