Patrick Hinton is an active freelance educator and performer in the greater Houston, TX area where he enjoys teaching a thriving low brass studio in the Klein, Fort Bend, and CyFair school districts.
Patrick received his Bachelor of Arts in Music from Jacksonville State University, and a Master of Music in Tuba Performance from the University of Alabama. His primary teachers are Dr. Demondrae Thurman, John Thomas, and Chris Hosmer.
Patrick has served on the faculty of Mississippi State University as Adjunct Instructor of Tuba and Euphonium, and was a low brass instructor at the Atlanta Music Academy. He was a founding member of the Beltline Brass Quintet and has performed with numerous ensembles including the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, Georgia Philharmonic Orchestra, Georgia Brass Band, Mercury Orkestar, and the UA Faculty Brass Quintet, among others.
Active in the Drum Corps International community, Patrick is entering his sixth season as a member of the brass team as a low brass instructor at The Cavaliers drum and bugle corps, seven-time DCI World Champions.. He previously served as the Co-Brass Supervisor and Low Brass Coordinator roles for the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, and has worked with Atlanta CV Drum and Bugle Corps. Patrick marched with the Spirit organization during the 2002-2004 seasons.
