Kevin Nevsimal is very excited to be returning for the second season of Chromium Winds as the Visual Designer and Visual Caption Head. Nevsimal graduated in 2010 from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors degree in Music Education. During his undergrad at NIU, Kevin found an opportunity to write halftime drill for the NIU Huskie Marching Band. That experience opened the door to write drill for some local high school marching bands. Since then, Nevsimal now designs shows for groups at all levels across the country. Kevin has worked with several high school marching bands and winter guards in Illinois including Lake Park HS, Mahomet Seymour HS, Lasalle-Peru HS, and Sandwich HS. In 2015 he was on the visual staff with the Boston Crusaders. In addition to designing and teaching, Nevsimal also enjoys being a freelance adjudicator in the fall for marching shows across the country.

Nevsimal played mellophone in The Cavaliers from 2004-2008 (DCI World Champions 2004 & 2006) and marched contra with the Colts in 2003. He also marched in his high school winter guard during his junior year, but would rather not discuss that experience. Nevsimal had the honor of playing the mellophone solo in the Corps Song in both 2007 and 2008. He won I&E in 2006. Kevin was the drum major of the NIU Huskie Marching Band for 2 years and received the directors award his senior year.

Kevin lives with his incredible wife Kelly in his hometown of Wheaton, IL. Kevin enjoys running and has finished 3 Tough Mudder races. He likes anything Disney or Pixar related, Apple products, and hanging out at TopGolf!
