Forrest Budway is originally from Raleigh, NC, and is joined The Cavaliers as a Visual Technician for the 2018 season and is excited to return. Currently a teacher at Leesville Road Middle School in Raleigh, NC, Forrest graduated from UNC-Wilmington in 2016 with a B.A. in History and a focus in Secondary Education.

From 2012 to 2017, Forrest was a performer in several World Class marching ensembles around the country, including The Cavaliers, the Colts, Teal Sound, Cavaliers Indoor Percussion, and Palmetto Percussion. During his extensive marching career, Forrest has had the pleasure to learn from and work with some of the best innovators and educators in the activity, including Michael McIntosh, Eric Ridenour, Nick Beaudet, AJ Cowall, Joe Hobbs, Joe Roach, Jesse Backes, Rick Rodriguez, A.J. Pace, and Kimball Seebeck.

As an educator, Forrest has spent the past 6 years as the head percussion instructor and arranger at Hoggard High School in Wilmington, NC, where he has played a critical role in the band’s recent successful seasons. He has also worked with several other high school ensembles around the country, including Panther Creek High School (Cary, NC) and Norwell High School (Ossian, IN).

Forrest is very excited to return to bring his wide variety of experiences to the already strong and growing team of staff at The Cavaliers for their 2019 season!
