Claire Pittman is excited to begin serving on The Cavaliers' Brass Staff for her first year with the organization. Previously, she spent time with the Cadets on their brass staff and was a "performing staff member" with Blue Devils International as they toured Europe.

Claire is currently the Assistant Band Director at Killian Middle School, who was recently selected as TMEA's 2018 CC Honor Band. She is excited to be a part of the preparation for their Honor Band concert this February at the TMEA Clinic and Convention in San Antonio, Texas. The Killian MS Band includes over 300 students in grades 6-8 and is proud to be a part of the Hebron High School Band cluster. At Killian, her responsibilities include teaching all the beginner brass classes, directing two concert bands, and assisting with the varsity group. Previously, she worked at New Braunfels High School and Ninth Grade Center, where she led the high school's marching brass program and the ninth grade concert ensembles. Claire's concert groups have consistently received Superior ratings and have earned distinctions at many contests within their classification. Most recently, the Killian Wind Ensemble was recognized as a "commended" winner in the Class AA Citation of Excellence competition.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Claire graduated from Lake Highlands High School and went on to study Music Education at Texas Christian University. During her time at TCU, she studied horn with Heather Test and was a member of the Wind Symphony under Bobby Francis. As a member of a variety of TCU's ensembles, she had the opportunity to perform at the TMEA and CBDNA Conventions, the Rose Bowl, and a number of other events.

Claire spent four summers from 2010-2013 as a marching member of Drum Corps International. Her first summer was spent with the Blue Stars, her second with the Blue Knights, and she spent her last two years with the Blue Devils, aging out in 2013. Aside from her primary work at Killian MS and the Cavaliers, Claire lends a hand to other programs in the metroplex by working instrument selection days, judging a variety of events, and teaching master classes. In the past, she has served on the leadership and music staff of TCU, TLU, and local HS summer camps.
